Mental Health Support for Life Abroad

What you'll find at Expat Couch
Life abroad, major transitions, and living between cultures can affect the way we relate to ourselves and others. At Expat Couch, we offer psychological support, psychotherapy, and counseling for expats, immigrants, international students, couples, families, and globally mobile individuals navigating change, identity, relationships, and emotional wellbeing.
You don’t have to navigate this alone.
Finding the right support can make life abroad feel less isolating and more grounded. Our therapists work in different languages and bring diverse cultural backgrounds and approaches, helping you find support that feels right for you.
1
Psychological Counseling
For moments when life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or emotionally heavy.
Our psychological counseling services offer support for stress, anxiety, emotional wellbeing, identity questions, relationship difficulties, and the challenges that can come with living abroad. We provide a warm and supportive space where you can explore what you are experiencing and feel heard without judgment.
2
Individual Psychotherapy
A space just for you
Individual therapy at Expat Couch offers a calm and supportive space to explore what you’re going through on a personal level. Whether you are navigating life abroad, identity questions, anxiety, burnout, loneliness, or major life transitions, this is a place where you can slow down and make sense of things.
Our therapists work with expats, immigrants, international students, and globally mobile individuals who are adjusting to change, building a new life in a different country, or feeling caught between cultures. In-person therapy in Hamburg and online therapy makes it possible to receive support wherever you are in the world.
3
Couples Therapy
Finding your way back to each other
Couples therapy provides a space to reconnect, communicate more openly, and understand each other more deeply during times of change. Living abroad or navigating different cultural backgrounds can put pressure on relationships, often bringing up misunderstandings, distance, or emotional strain.
At Expat Couch, we support couples who are dealing with relocation stress, intercultural dynamics, long-distance phases, or simply feeling stuck in their relationship. Together, we explore patterns, improve communication, and help you build a stronger emotional connection.
4
Counseling for Children and Teenagers
Growing up between cultures, moving countries, or adapting to new environments can be emotionally challenging for children and teenagers. We offer psychological counseling for children and teens in a warm, compassionate, and age-appropriate setting, helping them navigate emotions, school transitions, friendships, identity, anxiety, and family changes. We work closely with families to create a supportive environment where young people can feel understood, safe, and empowered.
5
Family Therapy
Families often experience change differently, especially during relocation, cultural transitions, or stressful periods of life. Family therapy creates a supportive space where family members can improve communication, strengthen relationships, and better understand one another. We help families navigate emotional challenges together while building healthier and more connected dynamics across different stages of life.
6
Groups
Connecting with others who share similar experiences can bring a powerful sense of support, understanding, and belonging. Our groups offer a safe and welcoming space for expats, immigrants, international students, and globally mobile individuals to explore themes such as identity, relationships, emotional wellbeing, cultural adjustment, and life transitions together. Through guided conversations and shared experiences, group support can help reduce isolation and create meaningful connections across cultures.
